Peripheral Artery Disease
We will explore presentations, mechanisms, examination, management and clinical reasoning. This lecture is highly practical and condition specific but it is hoped that it can integrated into a broader biopsychosocial approach.
The learning outcomes are:
- To appreciate, compare and contrast symptomatic PAD, primarily with lumbar spine stenosis
- To develop up-to-date knowledge of risk factors and prognostic factors
- To develop a deeper understanding of pathophysiology and how related to clinical manifestations
- To consolidate approaches to meaningful physical examination
- To consider when timely onward referral is appropriate.
- To consider conservative management options including supervised exercise programmes.
