Hip Exam

The prevalence of diagnosis and subsequent surgery for hip intra-articular pathology has skyrocketed to a 25-fold increase from 2006 to 2013. It has been suggested that such a large increase is due to limited understanding of clinical examination to discriminate intra- versus extra-articular hip pain. Diagnosis of athletic related hip and groin pain will cover how to screen for lumbar and pelvic girdle pathology, how to screen for extra-articular hip pathology and how to perform and interpret intra-articular hip clinical examination testing. The utilization of potential screening of the hip, as well as application of best evidence with clinical experience will be presented by Mike based on over 25 years of experience in this field.
